Board preview
Board preview is a read-only view of the kanban. In it the board owner or administrator see the status columns without real tasks and configure the column order without affecting the working board.
The preview opens from the board card context menu via Board preview (in a new tab).
The "Board preview" item and the screen itself are available only to the board owner and administrator. Opening the direct URL without rights does not show the preview — the user is returned to the boards list.
What the preview shows
- A persistent information banner stays above the board: this is not a working board; the column order changes only here by dragging the column header; the toolbar is not clickable; an Exit preview button.
- The toolbar (search, refresh, filters, planner, view switch, Add) and the filters panel are shown in the same composition as on the working board, but disabled.
- Columns contain anonymous placeholder cards. Real tasks are not requested and the cards are not clickable.
The columns are built from the board's status model and ordered by the saved order; statuses without a defined order follow the ordered ones.
Configuring the column order
- Hover over a column header — a grip icon appears.
- Drag the column by its header to a new position.
- Release — the new order is saved automatically in the board settings.
The saved order applies both in the preview and on the working board the next time it is opened. If saving fails, an error message is shown and the column order reverts to the last successfully saved one.
On the working board columns cannot be reordered by dragging — the order is set only here, in the preview.
Exiting the preview
Click Exit preview in the banner — the app navigates to the boards list.
