Planner

The planner is a task calendar that opens next to the board. It shows the same tasks as the board (respecting active filters and search) and lets you schedule a task's due date by dragging it onto the required day or hour.

Opening the planner

The board toolbar has a calendar-icon button (between the filters block and the Board / Table switch), tooltip — Planner.

  1. Click the button — the planner side panel opens on the right; the kanban stays on the left.
  2. Clicking again closes the planner, and the kanban takes the full width again.

The panel width is resizable; the chosen width is remembered and restored the next time it opens. The planner is not a third item of the "Board / Table" switch, but a separate panel over the current view.

Modes and navigation

  • Views: Day, Week (default), Month — switched in the calendar menu (⋮).
  • In the Week view a range switch is available: Mon–Sun (default) or Mon–Fri.
  • Navigation: back/forward arrows over the current period and a Today button. The current day is highlighted.
  • Full screen — from the ⋮ menu: the planner expands to the whole board area (the kanban is hidden); exiting brings back the side panel.

The time grid (day and week) shows hours from 08:00 to 22:00. Tasks are placed by their due date; tasks without a due date are not shown in the calendar. Tasks without a time land in the 09:00 slot.

Scheduling the due date by drag-and-drop

The planner changes only the task's due date, without affecting its status and column on the board.

  • From the board to the planner. Drag a task card from the kanban onto a day or hour in the calendar. On hover, the day header, the hour label and the target slot are highlighted. Dropping on a day (without a time) sets the due date to the end of that day (23:59:59); dropping on an hour slot sets it to the column's date and the slot hour.
  • Within the calendar. Drag a card onto another day or slot — the due date changes by the same rules.

No confirmation is requested: after the drop the due date is saved and the card on the board reflects the new date. If saving fails, an error is shown and the planner and board revert to the state before the drag. Dropping again on the same day/slot is safe.

💡

A short click on a card in the planner opens the task (in the same editor as on the board). Dragging does not open the card.

Creating a task from the calendar

Clicking an empty day or slot creates a new task with the due date already filled in: empty day → end of day (23:59:59), empty slot → the slot's date and hour. The usual task creation panel opens.

Task presentation

  • In month cells and grid slots a task is shown as a compact card with a truncated title and a priority colour bar on top.
  • If a month day has more tasks than fit, a "+N more" link is shown — it opens the day detail panel with the list of all tasks of that day (expanded cards: tags, checklist progress, comments, assignee).
  • In full-screen mode, a Collapse / Expand cards switch is available for the Week and Day views.

Relation to the board

The planner and the board show the same set of tasks: the board's active filters and search apply to the planner too. Opening a task from the planner uses the same editor as on the board. While the task editor is open, the planner is temporarily hidden and is restored after closing with the same mode and position.
